The question of quality, be it of the product or the attending, is part of the routine of all companies concerned with their position in the market. Always investing in innovation and technology, and thinking about its role as an agent of change in the society and the environment, Piá Cooperative has been implementing quality programs in its operations. The company is certified by ISO 14001, and has been developing the quality program 5S, the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP), besides having created the program Rural Entrepreneur, aiming at the professionalization of the producers associated to the cooperative.
ISO 14001 - Environmental Policy
The conquest of ISO 14001 attests Piá Cooperative’s commitment with the search for the continuous improvement of its environmental performance and reaching all legal requirements and norms applicable to its activities, services and products. By raising the awareness of all of its collaborators, it establishes goals and objectives that aim at preventing pollution, in search of its minimization, recycling solid and liquid waste, and the efficient use of energy.
5S - Sorting, Straightening, Systematic Cleaning, Standardizing, and Sustaining
With the implementation of the 5S program and the awareness of its collaborators in practicing the 5S, Piá invests in quality of life in the company, valuing better internal relationships, organization and hygiene.
HACCP - Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point
With the goal of guaranteeing the security and quality of its products, Piá has adopted the HACCP system, which analyses the hygiene in the facilities, operators and equipment.
The system evaluates the various phases which are part of the industrial processing of the food, in which are included the operations that occur from the obtaining of raw material to the final product. The analysis is based both on the identification of the potential dangers to the food security and the measures taken to control the conditions that generate danger.
Among the dairy industries in Rio Grande do Sul, with the same size or bigger, Piá was the first to be certified by PAS – Program of Safe Food.
Rural Entrepreneur
The Project Rural Entrepreneur appeared at the end of 1994 with the goal of offering resources and vocational education to small and middle producers, viabilizing the constitution of family businesses. Through partnerships with institutions and companies, the project offers the participants the opportunity to acquire technical, administrative and financial knowledge, which help to manage their own businesses and strengthen cooperativism even more. With the project Rural Entrepreneur, the members producers are improving productivity and all the process of management of available resources, thus viabilizing economically the rural properties.
